A wildlife zoo will be built in the Jingyuetan national forest park, one of Asia's large-sized artificial forest in northeast China's Jilin Province.

The zoo, to be built in a forest valley, is designed to cover an area of two square kilometers. After completion, it will be divided into a vehicle area and a walking area.

Huang Wenhua, director of the Jingyuetan development administration committee, said that rare birds and animals including peacocks, reindeer, rhinoceroses, camels, tigers and giraffes will be kept in the region.

Animals such as kangaroo from Australia and parrots from South America will be raised in the public area, said Huang.

The Jingyuetan national forest park, which covers a total area of 200 square kilometers, is located in the southeast of Changchun, capital of the province. It is home to a variety of medicinal herbs, rare animals and plants.
