According to the Global Times citing the information from an officer of the "Taiwan Intelligence and Security Agencies ", during the 50 years after the Kuomintang's withdrawal to converge on Taiwan Island a total of over 3000 Taiwan spies have been captured or disappeared in their espionage activities against the Chinese mainland. As recognized by this officer to overseas media the security departments of the Chinese mainland "know from A to Z" of all activities conducted by Taiwan spies there.

The disturbance due to the leakage of the secret documents entailed by the "corruptive case" of the ex-accountant of Taiwan "National Security Council" has put the global network formed assiduously over the long time past on the brink of collapse, said the article of the Global Times.

The article entitled the "global retreat of Taiwan spies" said, after the repeated exposure of the Taiwan "secret documents" by the Taiwan and Hong Kong media, Tsai Chao-ming, Director of Taiwan "National Security Council" said downheartedly: "The loss of these secret documents will probably land us in a plight of an international foundling and some people will even lose their lives."

By citing the news from outside the Global Times said: according to somebody of the Taiwan "National Security Council", the exposure of the Taiwan spies make it easy for anybody stepping into the shoes to be identified. And so there's nobody dare to take over the job and all intelligence agencies are tantamount to disruption. At present we saw the head of the "Taiwan Intelligence Agency" in the USA withdraw hurriedly back to Taiwan because of his being exposed. This was followed with the evacuation of other 12 intelligence agencies in the USA, Japan, France, South Africa and the Chinese mainland.

As the leakage covers a very large scale the Taiwan "National Security Council" is taking urgent measures to replace some codes of certain projects for intelligence, change names of companies and bank accounts and the codes for connections with the posts of relevant intelligence agents to be shuffled as well. It is the most difficult job for Taiwan authority to establish networks of special agents in Hong Kong, Macao and the Chinese mainland and it will take quite a long time to form an camouflaging organization to put agencies of such a scale under its wings.

As so many spies undercover and exterior companies on the Chinese mainland are already brought to light it is easy to track down the others. Up to now, the Taiwan Authority has given the order to remove its agencies already exposed on the Chinese mainland and to take a speedy measure for shifting all those exposed spy agencies and exterior organizations in Hong Kong and Macau.

By citing the news from the US media, the Global Times said, somebody holds on estimation, that the number of the Taiwan intelligence agencies comes to over several hundreds in the world. Though more than ten intelligence agencies have been forced to revocation most of them are still there. Information experts hold that the spies undiscovered are still in the hiding. However, it's easy to imagine that many of them are trembling with fear for it's hard to say that their secrets may one day be brought to the daylight.
