Premier Zhu Rongji Meets Former Australian PM

Zhu spoke highly of Keating's long-term efforts to promote Sino-Australian relations, and hoped that Keating would continue contributing to bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology and finance.

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met with former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating Wednesday.

Zhu spoke highly of Keating's long-term efforts to promote Sino-Australian relations, and hoped that Keating would continue contributing to bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology and finance.

Keating commended China's economic policy and achievements. The Chinese government's concentration on development was also conducive to peace and development in the world at large, he noted.
