Chinese State Councilor Wu Yi, leading an official delegation, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday afternoon for a five-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In a written statement issued upon her arrival at the airport, Wu said the friendly and cooperative relations between China and the UAE have witnessed steady growth since the two countries established diplomatic ties, thanks to the concerted efforts made by the two sides, she said.
China treasures its friendship with UAE and is interested in developing country-to-country cooperation in all fields, she said.
In the statement, Wu also stressed that she was looking forward to exchanging opinion with UAE officials on the bilateral ties and other issues of mutual concern during the visit.
She expressed confidence that her visit would contribute to the mutual understanding and friendship, which in turn would enhance cooperation between the two countries.
UAE is the fourth leg in Wu's current Middle East tour, which has already taken her to Iran, Lebanon and Oman. She is to fly to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia after she concludes her UAE visit.
