Premier Zhu Meets Russian Accounts Chamber President
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Monday with a seven-member delegation from the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation led by chamber President S. Stepashin.
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Monday with a seven-member delegation from the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation led by chamber President S. Stepashin.
Zhu said that although China and Russia have different auditing systems, they share many common points in auditing, and they can strengthen exchanges and cooperation in this regard.
Zhu and Stepashin had a conversation on issues of common interest.
The chamber, set up in 1995 under the Russian State Duma, is the top organ supervising finance, and its president, with a term of six years, is elected and appointed by the State Duma.
The chamber is a member of the International Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the Europe Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions (EROSAI). It joined the Asia Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) in 1996.
Stepashin arrived here Monday at the invitation of Li Jinhua, auditor-general of the National Audit Office.
