Oman Expects to Increase Cooperation With China
Omani Sultan Qabus Bin Said expressed on Saturday his country's hope of increasing cooperation with China in political, economic and trade fields during meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation led by State Councilor Wu Yi.
Omani Sultan Qabus Bin Said expressed on Saturday his country's hope of increasing cooperation with China in political, economic and trade fields during meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation led by State Councilor Wu Yi.
Qabus said that the Omani government and people pay much attention to the development in China and hope that the two countries increase cooperation in a wide range of areas.
On her part, Wu spoke highly of the achievements Oman made in the national construction based on its own conditions and hailed Oman's foreign policy based upon neutrality, non-alliance and good- neighborly relations.
Wu also highly valued the improvement of the friendly relations between the two nations, saying that Oman is an important crude supplier to China and there is a great potential for bilateral cooperation, especially in the trade and petroleum areas.
Wu conveyed during the meeting a letter of Chinese President Jiang Zemin to Qabus.
The Chinese delegation arrived here on Friday for a four-day visit to the Gulf state, a third leg of the delegation's Mideast tour. They had visited Iran and Lebanon and will travel on to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
