Server Research Lab Jointly to be Set up by China and US

Langchao Electrical and Information Ltd. Co. (Beijing) and the US Intel Co. announced recently that they will jointly establish a research lab engaged in advanced server memory technology. Sources said it is a breakthrough for the domestic servers which lack key technologies and conformity capability. Langchao is going to consolidate its advantageous position in the field of advanced servers.

Langchao Electrical and Information Ltd. Co. (Beijing) and the US Intel Co. announced recently that they will jointly establish a research lab engaged in advanced server memory technology. As the first lab set up by Intel in the Asia Pacific areas and formed by experts sent by Langchao and Intel together, the lab will conduct research and experiments of the memory technology in pace with the Intel's lab in the US.

Sources said it is a breakthrough for the domestic servers which lack key technologies and conformity capability. Langchao is going to consolidate its advantageous position in the field of advanced servers. Currently 40% of the server market is dominated by IBM and Hewlett-Packard.

Cooperation fills in technological gap

According to Wang Endong, General Manager of Langchao Group, the main gap in the server field between domestic enterprises and MNCs is the conformity capability. To seek for technological partner's support is an important means to shorten the gap. Langchao will change the situation fundamentally and try to gain the initiative in technology by co-establishing the lab with Intel. He indicated it's an inevitable trend for the domestic server sector to grasp key technologies and make breakthroughs. It's said Langchao will invest 2 billion yuan to the server sector within two to three years.
