Two More Foreign Airlines to Fly to Kuala Lumpur

Xiamen Airlines of China and Egypt Air will be the two new airlines that will commence their maiden operation to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) soon.

Xiamen Airlines of China and Egypt Air will be the two new airlines that will commence their maiden operation to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) soon.

Xiamen Airlines would fly twice weekly, from April 27, on Wednesdays and Saturdays using B757-200 aircraft with the routing of Fuzhou-KLIA-Fuzhou, Malaysia Airports Berhad's Corporate Communication General Manager Azmi Murad said in a statement issued here Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Egypt Air would commence its operation on July 9, utilizing Airbus A340 aircraft on Tuesdays and Fridays with the routing from Cairo-KLIA-Sydney, he said.

Azmi said Egypt Air was shifting its entire operations from Singapore to KLIA.

Besides that, he said that Sri Lankan Airlines also would be adding its fifth frequency effective April 3, on Wednesdays, utilizing Airbus A340 aircraft due to mounting demand.

He added that the routing was similar to the existing four flights, which was Colombo-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore-Colombo.

"With these new additions, there will be 44 international airlines operating at KLIA and more airlines are expected to commence operation to KLIA in the near future," he said.
