Li Lanqing Meets US Scholars
Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing met Wednesday with a United States delegation from Washington University headed by its president, Mark Wrighton, and Douglass North, a winner of Nobel Prize for Economics.
Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing met Wednesday with a United States delegation from Washington University headed by its president, Mark Wrighton, and Douglass North, a winner of Nobel Prize for Economics.
Li briefed the guests on the reform and development of higher education and science and technology in China, and said he was pleased with the expansion of cooperation and exchanges between academic circles in China and the United States.
The U.S. scholars appreciated the achievement in science and technology and education China had made since it adopted the policy of reform and opening up, particularly over recent years.
