Five people were killed and about 30 injurred Wednesday when a suicide bomber blew up a bus near the Arab northern Israeli town of Umm El Fahem, police said in an updated toll after the attack.

The blast occurred just after 7 a.m.during the morning rush hour at an intersection on a main east-west highway near the large Israeli Arab town of Um el-Fahm, thus causing heavy casualties, officials said.
The attack came as Israelis and Palestinians were attempting to work out a Mideast cease-fire under the mediation of U.S. envoy Anthony Zinni.
