January 26 saw Afghanistan's only one-eyed lion died at Kabul Zoo and to which a new donation was reported by Badaling Wildlife World according to a February 1 news release in Beijing. As are expected by people now, things have come to move in that happy direction. The Afghan Embassy on behalf of Afghan Interim Government yesterday told that Afghanistan is happy to have the donar's favor and meanwhile in hope that it would have two lions from the donar. The Afghan ambassador to China is reported this day to go to see the lions selected and hand in documents for prepared delivery of the lions from the Chinese side.

Woman interpreter Ms Xie from the Afghan Embassy told newsmen that things have been ready for the lions to be sent to Afghanistan and that a special fund has been set aside for the delivery of the lions at Kabul Zoo.
As is known from reliable sources, Badaling Wildlife World is presently busy with various arrangements for the transport of the lions. Newsmen were told two adult lions, in their prime years, about two years old, of African origin and of both sexes, have been selected last week, following the principle to make sure that the lions selected are healthy, vivacious and near to people. The male lion's donar is Badaling Wildlife World, the female's is China Wildlife Protection Association. Yesterday the two lions made their first appearance on an exhibition ground specially established and names are being requisitioned for the two lions by the Wildlife World starting today. Meanwhile, motor vehicles have been specially arranged to provide traffic conveniences for people to go to see the lions on display at Badaling Wildlife World.
It is told that application documents have been submitted to the Forest Administration of the state last week. When all preparations should have got ready, it is told that the lions will start off by the end of April or early May from China.
