The air and sea search and rescue operations for victims in the collision of two vessels in
Hong Kong
waters continued Thursday.
A locally licensed dredge, "A. M. Vella", capsized and sank after it collided with a
Singapore
registered container ship, " Kota Hadiah", on March 12 evening in the water about 1,000 meters southwest of the public pier at Tsing Lung Tau.
Seven crew members from the dredge are still missing while the body of a crewman was recovered Wednesday morning. The rest of the ship's 15-member crew have been saved.
One of the crewmen rescued has been admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital and is now in stable condition.
The 23 crew members of the Singapore vessel have not been injured.
Tsui Shung-yiu, director of marine of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, has ordered an investigation.
