Mugabe Wins Zimbabwe's Crucial Presidential Poll

Zimbabwe's incumbent President Robert Mugabe has won the country's closest-fought presidential poll, the latest election results showed Wednesday.

Zimbabwe's incumbent President Robert Mugabe has won the country's closest-fought presidential election since independence 22 years ago, the latest election results showed Wednesday.

The results, released by Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede at the official Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), gave Mugabe 1.63 million votes against Morgan Tsvangirai of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) with 1.18 million votes.
