The Information Office of the Chinese State Council will issue Monday the human rights record of the
United States
in 2001, rejecting US blame on China in its human rights report released a week ago.
The article, about 10,000 Chinese words, consists of six parts, namely "Lack of Safeguard for Life, Freedom and Personal Safety", "Serious Rights Violations by Law Enforcement Departments", "Plight of the Poor, Hungry and Homeless", "Worrying Conditions for Women and Children", "Deep-Rooted Racial Discrimination", and "Wantonly Infringing upon Human Rights of Other Countries".
The article cites lots of facts and examples to show the serious human rights violations in the United States, urging the US government to give up its double standards and unilateralism on such issues as human rights, to go with the tide of the times characterized by cooperation and dialogue in the area of human rights, and to do things conducive to the progress and developmen of the human society.
