Sino-US Negotiations on Genetically Modified Agricultural Products Fruitful
The recent negotiations between China and the United States on the temporary measures to be taken for the regulation of genetically modified agricultural products were "positive" and "fruitful," the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) said here Friday.
According to MOFTEC officials, the Chinese delegation headed by Ma Xiuhong, vice minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, and the U.S. delegation headed by chief agriculture negotiator Allen Frederick Johnson, have exchanged information about the temporary measures.
China's relevant government departments are formulating the measures which will be made public soon.
The Chinese delegation comprises officials from MOFTEC, the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine.
