Vietnamese Women Scientists, Managers Mark Women's Day

Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh of Vietnam has praised women intellectuals' great contributions to the cause of national liberation and construction.

Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh of Vietnam has praised women intellectuals' great contributions to the cause of national liberation and construction.

Vice President Binh also spoke highly of women's achievements in scientific research and managerial work in the education and training sector while addressing a get-together of female scientists and education managers, held in Hanoi on March 6 on the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8).

Participants were briefed on the results of the ninth National Women's Congress of Vietnam and the national strategy for women's advancement until 2010. They exchanged views on the role of women scientists and educational managers in implementing the 2001-2010 Education Development Strategy, and proposals to the Party and State for creating favourable conditions for women in scientific research and managerial work.
