Mutual export trade between mainland and Hong Kong
Cao said Hong Kong has been a major market to textile exports of the Chinese mainland. The export value to Hong Kong totaled US$10.4 billion last year, an amount about 19.83 percent of the mainland's textile exports. Meanwhile, the mainland has also made itself an important market for Hong Kong's textile exports. Hong Kong sold over US$9.78 billion worth of textile products to the mainland from January to October last year, about 32 percent of its textile exports.
The mainland attaches great importance to Hong Kong's market, with a "Clothing Material Trade Fair" having been held every spring there. Cao told that a large number of enterprises known for many of their famous brands and superior hi-tech products will be represented at the spring trade fair to be held at Hong Kong's exhibition center on March 5.
The said Chamber of Commerce has held "Clothing Material Trade Fair" four times in Hong Kong since it had its first in 1999.
