Israeli F-16 Warplanes Launch Strike on Bethlehem

Israeli F-16 warplanes on Monday night started airstrikes on Palestinian National Authority (PNA) installations in the West Bank town of Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses reported.

Israeli F-16 warplanes on Monday night started airstrikes on Palestinian National Authority (PNA) installations in the West Bank town of Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses reported.

Witnesseses said that they saw at least three F-16 warplanes flew over Bethlehem for 10 minutes and dropped bombs at the main PNA security complex, known as al Mukataa belonging to the PNA police and public security.

They said that they heard six huge explosions, and then they saw dust in the air, flames of fire and smoke coming out from the places targeted. No injuries have yet been reported.

A spokesman for Palestinian security forces and elite Force 17 bodyguard unit of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat told Xinhua that the intensive Israeli airstrikes has destroyed al Mukataa in Bethlehem.

The Israeli airstrikes on Bethlehem is continuation of the Israeli government decision to respond to a series of attacks carried out by Palestinian militants against Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Official medical Palestinian sources said that 22 Palestinians were killed on Monday by Israeli soldiers during an intensive Israeli army air and ground operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Israeli army raided the Jenin Refugee camp in northern West Bank, and failed to assassinate a Hamas leader with tanks shells in Ramallah.

Hussein Kuacke, a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) was not hurt in the targetted assassination, but his wife and three of his children were killed after one of the tanks shells destroyed the car.
