Chinese legislatures at all levels have been busy overhauling the existing laws and regulations since the country joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) late last year, the spokesman for the coming annual session of China's top legislature said Monday.
Zeng Jianhui, the spokesman for the Fifth Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC), said China will abide by WTO rules to the letter and honor its commitments to the world trade body.
China will enact new laws and regulations, and revise those incompatible with WTO rules, the spokesman said.
Zeng said the NPC and its Standing Committee has amended seven laws in line with China's WTO commitments since late 1999.
