Commonwealth Leaders have postponed any possible action on Zimbabwe till after the election in that country is over on March 10.

In a statement issued Monday, the leaders, meeting in Coolum, Australia for their four-day biennial summit since Saturday, expressed their " deep concern" over the incidents of violence and intimidation in Zimbabwe's election campaign, and urged all parties in that country to work together to ensure a free and fair election.

But they did not call for any immediate action of sanction against Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, who was accused of framing and intimidating his political opponents.

Rather, the leaders agreed to form a group consisting of South Africa, Australia and Nigeria to discuss the observers' report after the election in that country and determine "appropriate Commonwealth action on Zimbabwe in the event the report is adverse."
