The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian mainstream Fatah movement Saturday night claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing attack in Jerusalem that killed ten people and wounded more than 50 others.

The local Al Mahd Palestinian private television reporting from Bethlehem in the West Bank said that anonymous Palestinians said in a telephone call the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is behind the suicide explosion in Jerusalem.

The anonymous told Al Mahd TV that the suicide bomber is Mohamed Ahmed Daraghmeh, a 19-year-old youth from Deheisha refugee camp near Bethlehem and he is a member of Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

In Deheisha refugee camp, Palestinian masked young men took the main street and announced by loudspeakers that Daraghmeh is a "Martyr".

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) condemned in a statement on Saturday the suicide bombing attack carried by a Palestinian suicide bomber in Jerusalem killing nine Israelis and wounding 57 others.

"The PNA clearly condemned and is condemning any attack that targets civilians either they are Israelis or Palestinians especially today's operation that targeted civilians in a Jewish Orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem," said the statement.

At least ten people, including a one-year-old baby girl, were killed and more than 50 others were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up in the ultra-Orthodox Beit Yisrael neighborhood of Jerusalem on Saturday evening.

The PNA accused Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's government for being responsible for the current escalation in the region, adding that this escalation had left dozens of people killed and hundreds injured in both sides.

At least 26 Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers were killed in the past three days when Israeli army launched an intensive air and ground operations into the West Bank refugee camps of Balata and Jenin. More than 250 people were injured.
