While steadfastly pushing forward reform, China is urging government officials to care more about social security issues.

A book on social security, which is intended for government officials, has been published in Beijing. The book, "Readings for Government Officials on Social Security," carries an inscription of the title in Chinese President Jiang Zemin's handwriting.

Compiled by China's Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the book introduces the basics of the modern social security system, current policies and the development trend of China's social security systems, and how to improve social security work.

The book is expected to help government officials do a better job in social security work.
