Haier Joins Hands with Taiwan Sampo for Common Exploration of Market

February 20 saw a cooperative contract signed in Hong Kong between two top manufacturers of home appliance--Qingdao Haier Group and Taiwan's Sampo Corporation. This cooperation will exercise a great influence on the two magnates in enhancing their competitiveness in the global market of household appliance.

As reported, the two sides will launch cooperation on home appliance, IT electronic products, telecom products and technologies in many such fields as sales, purchases, investment in 16:9 plasmatic TV sets, LCD TV sets, DVD photo-drives, FBT, LCD monitors, air-condition compressor and electronic cells, etc. Both Haier and Sampo will sell each other's products through its respective distribution channels. In addition, Haier has placed orders with Sampo for component of mobile phones and Sampo will also buy some TV sets, refrigerators, washers and some other home appliance from Haier.

Chinese mainland's leading electronic appliance maker Haier and Taiwan-based Sampo Corporation signed a strategic alliance agreement here Wednesday to market each other's products.

The alliance will enable the two sides to take advantage of each other's winning edges, make use of each other's resources andmaximize the benefits for both, said Yang Mianmian, president of the Haier Group. here
