Bateer, 2.10 meters or 6-11 feet center, will fly to America to join the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), becoming the second Asian player in NBA after his national teammate Wang Zhizhi joining Dallas Mavericks last season.
"I wish Beijing team would have be as good as usual," sobbing Bateer said when he put on Nuggets No. 27 jersey before hundreds of his Beijing fans.
"All I can say now is thanks to my club and my fans." Bateer added.
Bateer's Perform in the Match
The 26-year-old center set the tone of the farewell match with his first touch of the game. He bounced powerfully for a jump ball and buried his first basket just three seconds into the game.
The away team swayed a little after a 4-0 start, but took the control before the end of the first quarter, and never looked back after that.
Teammate Rasul Salahuddin had the game-high 36 points and forward Jiao Jian contributed 24 points for Ducks' win. Wang Sheng led Olympician with 29 points.

In Zhejiang, Zhejiang Cyclones surprised the visiting Jilin Northeast Tigers, 122-107. Jilin's playmaker Sun Jun had 35 points, but cannot save his team from the defeat as local stars God Shammgod and Zheng Wu scored 31 and 30 points respectively.
In other matches: Bayi Rockets defeated Liaoning Hunters, 109-103; Shanghai Sharks beat Shanxi Gaitianli, 106-96; Sina Lions won over Jiangsu Dragons, 127-98, Shandong Flaming Bulls defeated Shenzhen Yikang, 118-88.
Chinese basketball player Menk Bateer has become NBA teams' target and he is likely to play in the world's top basketball league next year.
The 2.10-meter center Bateer, who has attracted attention of NBA clubs Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks, received an invitation fax from the Denver Nuggets early this week, which offered him a chance to attend their per-season training camp from October 1 to 26.
It is a year of ecstasy to the Chinese basketball fans. After a prolonged longing for the world elite basketball league, the American NBA, China's talent Wang Zhizhi wrapped up the Odyssey of joining the Dallas Mavericks team to become the first Asian player in NBA.
Wang's step has the significance of a milestone of Chinese basketball, and his occidental trip opened the door to the world for his peers in the domestic league.
