Jiang Calls French President

Chinese President Jiang Zemin made a telephone call to French President Jacques Chirac Saturday afternoon, briefing him on the visit to China by U.S. President George W. Bush. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jiang exchanged views with Chirac on bilateral ties and international issues of common concern.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jiang exchanged views with Chirac on bilateral ties and international issues of common concern.

Chirac expressed gratitude to Jiang for the briefing, saying that it is useful to maintain exchanges of views between leaders of the two countries.
