Chinese President Jiang Zemin hosted a welcome banquet for visiting US President George Walker Bush and his entourage Thursday evening at the Great Hall of the People.

Present at the banquet were Chairman Li Peng of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and Chairman Li Ruihuan of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
