Bush Says U.S., China Share Common Interests
U.S. President George W. Bush said here Thursday that the United States shares common interests with China, despite the fact they also have disagreements.

Bush expressed belief that the United States and China can discuss their differences with mutual understanding and mutual respect.
Bush made the remarks when meeting the press jointly with Chinese President Jiang Zemin at the Great Hall of the People following their talks.
Jiang Asked to Convey Message to Kim Joing Il
Visiting U.S. President George W. Bush said Thursday that he has asked the help of Chinese President Jiang Zemin to convey the message to Kim Joing Il, the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), that the United States is willing to engage in dialogue with the DPRK. He made the remarks while jointly meeting the press at the Great Hall of the People together with Jiang.
Bush said that he had told Jiang his offer of dialogue made in Seoul Wednesday is a real offer and the United States "will be willing" to meet with the DPRK.
"And I asked his (Jiang's) help to convey the message to Kim Jiong Il" if Jiang speaks to Kim, Bush said.
