Bush: U.S. to Support China's Efforts for Greater Prosperity

U.S. President George W. Bush said here Thursday that the United States will be a steady partner in China's historic transition to greater prosperity.

U.S. President George W. Bush said here Thursday that the United States will be a steady partner in China's historic transition to greater prosperity.

Meeting the press with Chinese President Jiang Zemin following their talks at the Great Hall of the People, Bush said that tremendous changes have taken place in China in the last 30 years in China's historic transition to greater prosperity.

and he believes that equally tremendous changes lie ahead.

These changes will not only have profound impact on China itself but also on the international community, Bush said.

Bush arrived here Thursday morning for a two-day working visit to China.
