"In old Tibet, women were prohibited from participating in political affairs, which left untapped the talents and wisdom of numerous women in Tibet," she said.

To arouse the enthusiasm of Tibetan women, Ceyang has set up a women's research institute in Tibetology under the Tibet University, the first of its kind in China.
