China to Help Cambodia Repair Road in Phnom Penh
China and Cambodia have signed an Exchange of Notes on the repairing project of the road surface of Mao Zedong Boulevard to be undertaken by the People's Republic of China.

Uch Kiman, Cambodian secretary of state of ministry of foreign affairs, and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Ning Fukui inked the exchange of notes Wednesday afternoon at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Under the exchange of notes, the expenses for the implementation of this project shall be defrayed from the interest-free loan stipulated in the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation signed on December 24, 2001 between the two governments.
Under the initiative from Samdech Norodom Sihanouk, Cambodian head of state, the construction of the boulevard was started on March 22, 1965 and Sihanouk, who personally sponsored its inauguration ceremony, named the boulevard as Mao Zedong Boulevardon August 30, 1965.
The road, with a total length of 5.1 kilometers, is one of the busiest streets in the Municipality of Phnom Penh.
