The investigation of U.S. journalist Daniel Pearl's kidnapping case is continued with same intensity and vigor and there will be no reluctance on the government's part.

Foreign Office spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan told a press briefing here on Monday.

Khan told a questioner that Omar Sheikh, the chief suspect arrested some days earlier, has been apprehended for certain reasons and investigation and his extradition to any country is not in question.

"Let Pakistan's law take its own course then we will see," Khan said in response to a question based on a news report that Omar Sheikh might be extradited to the United States.

Khan termed as baseless and fictitious the news reports carried by Indian newspapers about Omar Sheikh's involvement in acts of terrorism in India including shooting at Parliament House and in Calcutta.
