Road Accident Kills Ten in Southwest China

Ten people were killed and 48 others injured in a road accident in Chongqing, a southwest municipality Saturday.

Ten people were killed and 48 others injured in a road accident in Chongqing, a southwest municipality Saturday.

A bus carrying 58 people overturned and fell off a 105-meter-high slope at noon Saturday in Yanjing Town, Hechuan City at 11:50 am, killing ten people on the spot and leaving at least eight seriously injured.

Shortly after the accident, leading officials from Chongqing Municipality and Hechuan City rushed to the scene with medical workers.

Preliminary investigations suggest driver inexperience was the cause of the accident.
