Chief Suspect Detained in Wall Street Journal Reporter's Abduction

The chief suspect in the abduction of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was arrested in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore Tuesday, an Interior Ministry official said.

The chief suspect in the abduction of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was arrested in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore Tuesday, an Interior Ministry official said.

Ahmad Omar Saeed Sheikh was being sent to the southern port city of Karachi where he will be interrogated, the official was quoted as saying.

The official added he was arrested Tuesday afternoon but refused to give further details about Pearl's whereabouts and other information.
