Fireworks Display to Celebrate Lunar New Year in HK
To celebrate the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse, a 23-minute 23-second fireworks display will light up the Victoria Harbor, Hong Kong, this Wednesday, the second day of the Lunar New Year.
To celebrate the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse, a 23-minute 23-second fireworks display will light up the Victoria Harbor, Hong Kong, this Wednesday, the second day of the Lunar New Year.
A total of 21,800 pieces of firing shells will be discharged. Divided into 12 spectacular scenes, the fireworks display will have a new mirror-image symmetrical effect with fireworks being discharged from one large barge accompanied by eight pontoons, four on each side.
Themes of the scenes include the Cup of Life, the Olympic Spirit, Victory, Time to Say Good-bye, Happy New Year, Happy Chinese New Year, Butterfly Dance, and so on.
The fireworks display is sponsored by the Federation of Hong Kong Guangdong Community Organizations Ltd and coordinated by the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Total sponsorship amount is 2.5 million HK dollars.
