DPRK Leader Congratulates on Chinese Spring Festival
Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Central committee and also chairman of the National Defense Commission of the DemocraticPeople's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Sunday congratulated on Chinese Spring Festival.

When meeting with Wu Donghe, Chinese new ambassador to the DPRK,Kim said he hoped that the friendly relations between the two countries would further improve.
He said high-level visits by the leaders of both countries would be vital to development of the bilateral ties. Kim Jong Il held talks with Chinese President Jiang Zemin when he visited Beijing in January this year.
Kim said that the DPRK and China have been enjoying mutual support and mutual assistance, while the two parties as well as the two countries witnessed a good beginning in the new century.
He said the development of bilateral relations between the DPRKand China is expected to speed up, with more active contacts and exchanges in various fields.
