Israeli Helicopters Attack Northern Gaza With Missiles
Israeli Apache helicopters fired more than eight missiles Sunday night at Palestinian civilian establishments in the town of Jabalyah in northern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian National Authority (PNA) spokesman said.
Israeli Apache helicopters fired more than eight missiles Sunday night at Palestinian civilian establishments in the town of Jabalyah in northern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian National Authority (PNA) spokesman said.
The Israeli strike came shortly after F-16 warplanes attacked the PNA "Ansar 2" security installation in Gaza City, causing severe damage and wounding ten people.
The spokesman told Xinhua that the missiles have targeted several stores, a house and an empty kindergarten in Jabalyah, and severe damages were caused to the targeted buildings.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said that ambulances rushed to the scene and several people were injured and taken to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
The Israeli air strikes came in retaliation for the killing of two Israeli female soldiers in the day in the southern Israeli town of Be'er Sheva.
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat accused on Sunday Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for the current wave of violence between Israel and the Palestinians.
However, Israel held Arafat and the PNA responsible for the attack because the Israeli government accused Arafat and the PNA of not making enough efforts to stop violence.
