China Starts Art Paper Anti-Dumping Investigation

China will start an anti-dumping investigation of art paper imported from the Republic of Korea, Japan, the United States of America and Finland.

On Wednesday, MOFTEC will launch an investigation into the case and decide whether dumping took place and if so to what extent in keeping with China's regulations on anti-dumping.

China will start an anti-dumping investigation of art paper imported from the Republic of Korea, Japan, the United States of America and Finland.

This will be announced on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) and become effective on the same day, according to MOFTEC sources.

The investigation relates to imported art paper listed under " 4810.1100" and "4810.1200" in the tariff of the General Administration of Chinese Customs.

On Wednesday, MOFTEC will launch an investigation into the case and decide whether dumping took place and if so to what extent in keeping with China's regulations on anti-dumping.

In the meantime, the State Economic and Trade Commission will investigate any damage done to China's industries from the alleged dumping.

According to MOFTEC sources, the dumping case was reported by coastal paper companies representing China's printing paper industry.



China Introduces Anti-Dumping Law
The State Council issued an order Monday, announcing that the country's Anti-dumping Statute, which includes regulations concerning dumping and damage, anti-dumping investigations, anti- dumping measures and an anti-dumping tax, will be effective from January 1, 2002.
