CAIU and CPAPD Hold Spring Festival Reception
The Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAIU) and Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) held a reception Tuesday to celebrate the coming of the Spring Festival.
The Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAIU) and Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) held a reception Tuesday to celebrate the coming of the Spring Festival.
CAIU President Li Guixian, who is also vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and CPAPD President He Luli, who is also vice- chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress addressed the reception.
They expressed their gratitude for the support of the two associations given by the people from all walks of life who were attending the reception.
During the past year, the CAIU and the CPAPD have adhered to the principle of peace and development, conducted wide communications with international non-governmental organizations and noted statesmen, and made positive achievements.
During 2002, the two associations, which are China's major non- governmental organizations, will participate more actively in international exchanges, and contribute to peace, stability and development in the new century.
