Chinese, Lao Defense Ministers Hold Talks

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian held talks in Beijing Monday with his Lao counterpart Duoangchay Pichit.

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian held talks in Beijing Monday with his Lao counterpart Duoangchay Pichit.

Chi who is also vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, said that China and Laos are good neighbors, and the two have had a long friendship.

He noted that the defense institutes and military leaders of the two countries have maintained frequent contact, which helps promote relations between the two.

He said that China is ready to support Laos to further the relations between the two states and militaries.

Duoangchay Pichit said that military relations between Laos and China have continued to develop with frequent exchange visits.

He said that the Lao military hopes to learn from its Chinese counterpart and to promote cooperation between the two armed forces.

He expressed gratitude for the aid given to Laos by the Chinese government.
