Shandong Keeps Hope for Title by Beating Beijing
Shandong Flaming Bulls recovered Sunday from three-straight losses to beat uprising Beijing Ducks, 107-96, keeping its hope for the title of the Chinese Basketball Association. The home team set the tone of the game from the very beginning, leading by as many as 36-15 in the first quarter. Beijing outscored its opponent in each of the following quarters, but failed to overcome the gap.

Shandong, who dropped two places to the fourth after three losses, records nine wins and seven losses after the 17th round. Beijing (10-6) still gripes the second place behind the leader Shanghai Sharks (16-0), who defeated third-placed Jilin Northeast Tigers (10-6) 112-94 on Saturday.

Power forward Jiao Jian led Beijing with 24 points and eight rebounds, while American guard Rasul Salahuddin contributing 21 points. Menk Bateer scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Defending champion Bayi Rockets kept home-winning record by defeating Zhejiang Cyclones, 133-124. Li Nan and Liu Yudong scored33 and 32 points respectively, while Zhejiang's God Shammgod having game-high 40 points.
Shanxi Gaitianli left no mercy by thrashing the winless Shenzhen Yikang, 137-102, while Guangdong Hongyuan handed Sina Lions' second consecutive loss, 103-95.
On Saturday, Jiangsu Dragons snapped losing streak by beating the luckluster Liaoning Hunters, 114-108.
Shandong Flaming Bulls held off a later challenge to scored a 101-86 victory over Zhejiang Cyclones on Wednesday, finished ninth at the 12-team Chinese Basketball Association league.
Zhejiang Cyclones came into the 10th place. Shandong and Zhejiang had ensured their spots in the division A for next season 's competition before Wednesday's game, which would only differ their final rankings. Full Story
