US to Ask Russia to Exert Influence on Iran, Iraq, DPRK

A senior Bush administration 's official said on Thursday that the United States would ask Russia to exert its influence on Iran, Iraq and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

A senior Bush administration 's official said on Thursday that the United States would ask Russia to exert its influence on Iran, Iraq and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

"We will use our new and budding relationship with Russia to redouble our efforts to prevent the leakage of dangerous materials and technologies," U.S. National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice said.

In his first State of Union address on Tuesday night, U.S. President George W. Bush labeled the three countries as an "axis of evil," accusing them of developing weapons of mass destruction to threaten the U.S. and its allies.
