Thailand Plans to Send 950 Soldiers to Kabul
The Defence Council of Thailand had approved a plan to send 950 army soldiers including medics and engineers to join the multinational peacekeeping force in Afghanistan, the Bangkok Post reported Thursday.

Deputy defence spokesman Col Palangkoon Klaharn was quoted as saying that according to the plan, 885 soldiers would be recruited from the Fourth Army's engineering section and the remaining 65 would be medical staff.
The Thai contingent would be put under the command of the United Nations or the U.S or British forces in Afghanistan, the report said.
