"I received MBA courses in countryside"

"I have been in the countryside for four years and received my MBA courses there", one of China's richest entrepreneurs Liu Yonghao Sunday made a speech to several hundred MBA students when he was engaged as management & education consultant by Zhongshan University in South China's Guangdong Province.

Liu Yonghao, chairman of China's New Hope Group, president of the Hope Group, and vice chairman of the China Minsheng Banking Corporation, has been regarded by Fortune magazine as the richest man in China three times. According to the farmer-turned entrepreneur, excellent entrepreneurs and managers are grown from keen market competition instead of merely from a diploma.

Basic qualities of being a talent

Answering a question about what kind of management talents will be wanted by enterprises in the 21st century, Liu enumerated the basic qualities of being a talent with a healthy mind-set irrespective of success or failure and the right attitude and enthusiasm for creation, study and drawing lessons from others. Liu also stressed that being able to endure hardships is necessary for one to become an entrepreneur.

MBA education not the only effective way for training talents

In addition, some other excellent entrepreneurs, including Ma Mingzhe from Ping'an, Ding Lei from Netease, and the like, have also been engaged as management & education consultants by Zhongshan University. It is reported that none of the tycoons have received MBA courses. Their personal experiences have proved that MBA education is not the only effective way for training talents.
