Japanese orphans brought up by Chinese people
Those Japanese orphans were left in China after Japan was defeated during World War II and Chinese people brought them up. Most of them have returned to their homeland with the help of the Chinese government.

Due to some reasons, some orphans failed to contact with their relatives and they are now still in China. The Chinese government has made various efforts to help them find their relatives.

Chinese government helps them find relatives
According to Liaoning Red Cross, some 2500 Japanese orphans went back to Japan. There are about 60 of them left in Liaoning province. Most of their foster parents have already passed away and those orphans are also entering into senior age. They are living happily together with their children.

As orphans of war victims the Chinese people adopted them. This has expressed in full traditional merit, broad and profound loving care of the Chinese people. The profound affections of orphans for their Chinese parents have built up the everlasting friendship between Japanese and Chinese peoples.

The 63-year-old Wang Zhenshan, a Japanese orphan said with a twang that "I was born in China, grew up in China and the black soil of northeast China has brought me up".

Together with those Japanese orphans, the Japanese consul general in Shenyang visited the "monument for thanks-giving to Chinese foster parents" which was set up by thousands of Japanese orphans in 1999.

The China Red Cross will also go to Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang provinces to visit other Japanese orphans and their foster parents.
