Bayi Rockets Oust Shandong Flaming Bulls 103-97
Bayi Rockets drilled in three out of their eight three-pointers of the game in the last one minute to oust Shandong Flaming Bulls 103-97 at home on Sunday in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league. Shandong used a 10-2 run in three minutes to tie the game at 94-94 with 1:03 minutes left on the clock before Bayi steered up for the final surge.
Li Nan, who had 18 points, buried the first 3-pointer, but got an answer from Shandong's Yugoslavia's center Urkis Rolanpas 10 seconds later. Zhang Jinsong and Yu Jukai completed the last-minute 3-pointers run.
Veteran power forward Liu Yudong had another great game with 42points and 13 rebounds, while Rolanpas led Shandong with 21 points,14 rebounds and five assists.
55th Home Win for Bayi
This is the 55th home win for the defending champions Bayi in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, since the start of the CBA league in 1995.
Sina Lions took a revenge of the first-round loss to Liaoning Hunters, beating the last-season's fifth-placed opponent 86-83. Guard Jason Woodard scored game-high 24 points.
