CPPCC Motions: Mouthpieces of Citizens
Motions raised by members of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) have become mouthpiece reflecting the voices of Beijing citizens.
Motions raised by members of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) have become mouthpiece reflecting the voices of Beijing citizens.
Last year, the CPPCC municipal committee received 1,291 motions, among which 1,286 have been dealt with and questions raised in 743 motions have so far been totally or partially settled.
Among the motions, 247, the highest number, relate to the issue of transportation.
The municipal transportation department has taken prompt action: so far 23 of the roads, bridges and underpasses mentioned in the motions have been rebuilt or repaired, the renovation of another
22 roads is underway or being planned, 16 public bus routes have been altered as suggested, and another nine suggestions concerning the administration of taxis have been adopted.
Meanwhile, the municipal government has also acted on suggestions included in the motions concerning water saving, pollution prevention, public sanitation, drinking water quality and even the installation of public phones in primary and middle schools.
