The Uygur captives arrested during the military campaign in Afghanistan are "East Turkistan" terrorists and have close connections with international terroristforces, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Sun Yuxi said at a regular press conference Tuesday.
Sun said that if the captives are Chinese citizens, the relevant side should hand them over to China for trial in accordance with the law.
China opposes terrorism in all forms, Sun said, adding that no matter where or when terrorism occurs, whom it is aimed at, or what form it takes, China will work with the international community to sternly condemn it and resolutely crack down on it.
