In order to attract those talents, Chinese government has always been making efforts to improve its service system for returned overseas students to help them realize career ambition.
The ministry set up a service center for providing policy support and service guarantee for overseas students and experts. Some 20 working stations in the service of overseas students were also set up by the ministry, and consultancy organs in other cities were also established to provide returned overseas personnel with necessary services.
A website for providing related information for overseas students was launched by the ministry. In the meanwhile, aiming at making the best use of talents, the ministry has helped the returned students find suitable jobs with a total number of 10,000 heads.
Vice-Premier Li Lanqing said Friday that a sound environment should be created for students studying abroad to enable them to serve the motherland and contribute their wisdom to the nation's development.
Along with China's entry into the World Trade Organization, the country needs more talented people, he said, adding that greater efforts must be made to attract highly skilled personnel from abroad.
China has instituted a variety of preferential policies for overseas returned students to start their new careers, and has achieved good results.
Some provincial governments have even promised the reduction or exemption of taxation for returned students' firms within a certain period, and special funds for them to set up projects.
