CNPC Releases 2001 Operation Results

The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) said Sunday it made a sales revenue of 340.1 billion yuan (40.98 billion U.S. dollars) in 2001, with profit amounting to 53 billion yuan (6.4 billion U.S. dollars).

The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) said Sunday it made a sales revenue of 340.1 billion yuan (40.98 billion U.S. dollars) in 2001, with profit amounting to 53 billion yuan (6.4 billion U.S. dollars).

In 2001, the CNPC produced 106.53 million tons of crude oil and 20.58 billion cubic meters of natural gas, and processed 86.94 million tons of crude oil in domestic operations.

The CNPC also added 457 million tons of crude and 407.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to its hydrocarbon proven reserves.

In its overseas operations, the CNPC produced 16.23 million tons of crude oil and 930 million cubic meters of natural gas, and reaped a total sales income of 900 million U.S. dollars, with profit exceeding 100 million U.S. dollars.
