Ten Chinese-made locomotives, the first batch China has exported to Vietnam, were delivered to their Vietnamese client Sunday at a railway station on the border with Vietnam.
The locomotives, named "Reform" by the Vietnamese client, are worth 7.36 million U.S. dollars.
The 1,800-horsepower locomotives can run at up to 120 km per hour and supply power for the whole train.
The Ziyang Internal Combustion Engine Works, the Chinese producer of the locomotives, clenched the deal after it defeated its German, Russian and Indian competitors in a public bidding last April in Vietnam.
